Director Li Chun-Yao of CYCU Learning Service Center mentioned today that CYCU Myanmar Volunteer Group provided service to Chinese people primarily through the “English Camp” to help students interested in English and upgrade their qualifications for employment. Once, a local noodle shop boss talked about that he had relatives in Taiwan, who moved to Longgang District, Taoyuan City during the Civil War, where is now known as “Loyal Military Dependent’s Village”. However, he said that it was difficult to contact their relatives because the distance between them were so far away. The Myanmar volunteer group leader, the sophomore student of Department of Finance, Wang Yen-Ting, indicated that in order to connect the friendship between two countries, this year, the overseas volunteer group organized the English Camp to lead the high school students to care the orphanage established by the local minority, Li-Su Tribe. Meanwhile, it initiated the “Pass on Amorous Feelings – Send Love Back to Taiwan” project to help volunteers bring the messages from the isolated force in Myanmar back to their relatives in Taiwan in written form. CYCU Chief Strategy Officer, Wu Chao-Ming, indicated that in July and August this year, CYCU would send 6 groups to the six countries including Cambodia, Salvador, Thailand, Myanmar, Philippines and Japan to engage in the volunteer service for more than 120 days. Meanwhile, the “flag presentation ceremony” was held in school to encourage the university students to practice their passion and profession and contribute something to the national diplomacy for Taiwan. 2017/06/16
