Ambassador expatriated in Salvador, Hsieh Miao-Hung, and the First Lady of Salvador, Margarita Villaltade Sánchez and Deputy Minister of Cooperation and Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Salvador, Jaime Miranda, organized the donation ceremony for a batch of medicines at “Festival esparael Buen Vivir” sponsored by Taiwan in the Office of President of Salvador.

(CNA News 2017090509:24:31) Ambassador expatriated in Salvador, Hsieh Miao-Hung, and the First Lady of Salvador, Margarita Villaltade Sánchez and Deputy Minister of Cooperation and Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Salvador, Jaime Miranda, organized the donation ceremony for a batch of medicines at “Festival esparael Buen Vivir” sponsored by Taiwan in the Office of President of Salvador in the morning of August 31, the local time, and the NGO, “Care to Help Foundation”, and invited the national residing in the U.S.A. who founded the NGO, “Care to Help Foundation”, and was visiting Salvador, and the Foundation’s representative and volunteers in Salvador, as well as CYCU volunteer group, to attend the ceremony as witnesses.

The First Lady, Margarita Villaltade Sánchez, extended her sincere appreciation to Taiwan for the support given by Taiwan to the national social welfare policy proposed by Salvador Sánchez Cerén from 2014 to 2019, and the perfect fulfillment of the rural area health care plan and improvement of living conditions, and the assistance to the disadvantaged group in Salvador.

Deputy Minister, Jaime Miranda, stated that he was invited by Ambassador Hsieh to attend the Taste of Taiwan to experience Taiwan’s dietary culture this week, and on the night of September 1, he and Ambassador Hsieh would co-chair the opening ceremony of Taiwan Movie Festival held in the Museum of Anthropology of Salvador. Taiwan and Salvador have worked with each other to execute multiple cooperative plans benefiting the people of Salvador. This reflects the fair bilateral exchange and interaction, and also solid friendship, between both countries.

Ambassador Hsieh indicated that the R.O.C. Government and people were glad to support the national and social welfare policy of Salvador and also suggested integrating of the resources provided by the NGO, “Care to Help Foundation”, founded by the Taiwan national residing in the U.S.A. to help Salvador government execute the public health and medical plan. Finally, as witnesses by the First Lady, Margarita Villaltade Sánchez, Ambassador Hsieh signed the memorandum of donation with Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jaime Miranda, on behalf of Taiwan’s Government. The batches of medicines are scheduled to be released on the two “Festival esparael Buen Vivir” events held on September 2 and September 23. Ambassador Hsieh and Salvador Sánchez Cerén couple will attend the events jointly.
