Reconstruct Old Photo Frame for Re-Creativity

The forgotten photo frame creativity was reborn. The students of CYCU Department of Commercial Design helped the NPO for disadvantaged groups, the “Carpenter’s House”, develop creative design and reconstruction, and re-create the photo frame forgotten at the corner permanently!

Nowadays, everyone has his own smart phone and photo frame is almost replaced by memory card. “A memory card can record thousands of photos, but a photo frame can only hold one photo. So, does it have to be needed?” A photo frame may record one’s memories. Have you ever thought about what creative idea may keep a photo frame from being covered by dust at home?

From 1:00PM on January 8, 2016 until February 4, 2016, CYCU Department of Commercial Design and the Carpenter’s House worked together to organize the photo frame creative design festival. Associate Professor Huang Wen-Tsung of CYCU Department of Commercial Design led the students to practice their creative ideas on the photo frames recycled by the Carpenter’s House long time ago. The students were allowed to practice their creative ideas without limitations in the process of design and reconstruction to design practical or decorative re-creative work.

The characteristics owned by CYCU Department of Commercial Design reside in teaching students to utilize various professional technologies and different combinations of materials to learn about creative work design. Based on the idea about renovation of recycled goods, it hopes that all people may value environmental protection and recycling more. Meanwhile, the various creative works also change our traditional impression about old stuff.

The Carpenter’s House of Taoyuan County engages in life care, environmental protection and recycling operations, for the purpose of urging people to cherish resources, recycle wasted goods or reuse of old stuff, and re-creating the new life for the resources based on the young students’ creative idea, and calling on the people to cherish and value resources.
