Yesterday, Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan arrived at Shimen Community Activity Center, Longtang District to award the honor to the representatives of communities involving in the “Community Environmental Space Development Project: Clean Homeland”.  According to the Mayor, the communities which participated in the Project could be granted the subsidy ranging from NT$100,000 to NT$300,000. The CYCU professional group will “escort” the residents to guide the residents to develop idle, wasted or dirty spaces independently, and then activate and landscape the same on their own or by their contractors.

Cheng Wen-Tsan admired that the local residents all transformed into “architects” and worked together to make the community environmental spaces for fit for more purposes, and each piece of work demonstrated the local characteristics so perfectly that it looked like a magic show achieving the amazing effect.

Each community presented how waste community environment transformed into bright one and, therefore, caught the public eyes. For example, the old red brick house in Shimen Community of Hakka Cluster in Da Ping, Longtang District was renovated by the local residents as a garden corner and became a romantic scenic spot for wedding photography. Luguang Street, Bade District utilized the space in courtyard by decorating it with waste bricks, old tires, sand stone and green plants to create the senior space favored by old people and the sand castle for kids.
