“Happy Child Day” of the Carpenter’s House

The Carpenter’s House of Taoyuan County is used to providing healthy, safe and diversified recreational activities for the community children and juveniles. Since 2007, the Carpenter’s House would have organized the “Happy Child Day” at the eve of Children’s Day each year to gather the youth volunteer and make them practice their profession, design a series of creative and interesting activities, communicate care by practicing services, and enable the children to experience the child day exclusive for them.

In the morning of March 30, in the campus of Nei Ding Elementary School, Zhongli District, CYCU and Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology student volunteers, as well as the House’s international youth volunteers, co-designed such smart activities as field games, environmental protection DIY, and quiz show, et al., under guidance by professional volunteers, to organize various activities with fun, pleasure and social education for the children to make the rural area child students experience more about the pleasant festival.

The Chairman of the Carpenter’s House, Chin Tsung-Chun (Professor of CYCU) said that: because he had permanently guided CYCU student Service-Learning volunteers to provide tutoring service to the disadvantaged child students in various elementary schools in the District, he knew that Nei Ding Elementary School was situated in the rural area of Zhongli and the disadvantaged child students accounted for a high proportion of the School’s whole students (about one-thirds). They combined diversified resources with Nei Ding Elementary School on March 30 to care the disadvantaged families and organize the “Happy Child Day” to have fun with these children! They also strengthened the children’s human rights in the games and planned a series of quiz shows for the children of different ages, and enabled the children to learn teamwork, demonstrate their creativity and thinking ability and be their own master for one day in the game.

Qisda Corporation Ai Ai She also prepared a mysterious gift for each of children for the Children’s Day. Fubon Life Insurance Bade Office also participated in the volunteer service actively, helped the administrative and general affairs without charge and escorted the children on the site.
