What is the difference between “Service-Learning courses” and “internship courses”?

The difference between Service-Learning courses and internship courses resides in that:

  • The Service-Learning recipients are mostly public welfare groups and disadvantaged groups.  The Service-Learning hopes to strengthen students’ application of their majors in the process of service, so as to fulfill the purpose of character education.
  • The Service-Learning courses emphasize “service and “learning”, and enhance the performance of service and learning through introspection.  However, the internship courses take the learning objectives as the first priority, and the results of service as the secondary priority. No pay will be offered to students engaged in the Service-Learning project activities.
