On-site and online meetings with Zhuolan high school students through their English courses will be held. Presentations and discussions will be run between international undergraduate students from the IUBM program in CYCU and those high school students with the guidance and assistance of the high school teacher and CYCU professor.

High school students will need to research different topics about different cultures, learn how to ask proper questions, and follow up after each answer. They are also encouraged to be more active in interacting, especially in English, with foreign students. Afterward, they need to reflect on what they learn about different cultures and link those to their own knowledge and culture to develop their own future perspective. High school teachers give assignments and instructions for them to make sure they understand what they need to do and encourage them to be creative in asking questions.

Those international undergraduates present and share unique things about their cultures and basic knowledge of business and management. They have to prepare materials and present them in a way that high school students can understand (e.g., simple vocabulary, simple sentences, speak slowly and clearly). Furthermore, they learn how to act professionally and responsibly to be good examples for high school students to learn from.

計畫目標

Promote cultural exchanges, English skills, active learning environment for both Taiwanese and international students (by utilizing the advantages of international students – English and diversity – to contribute and enhance local education). Also, let international students learn more about Taiwanese culture, have a chance to know what people think or perceive about their own cultures, review and share what they learned about business and management, and learn how to act responsibly as role models for high school students.

課程目標

This course is for senior IUBM students who have been in Taiwan for several years. This is an opportunity for them to engage in solving problems and meeting the unmet needs of communities. It also helps students to gain proper attitude and self-reflection through working with and helping others. Besides, it helps international students explore and appreciate more the cultural and business environment here in Taiwan, which may be of help to those who wish to find jobs and contribute to the development of Taiwan in the future.


Course objectives include:

Enhance students’ academic learning and application in real context
Enhance students’ sense of social responsibility, personal and career growth
Create positive impacts on individuals, organizations, neighborhoods, or communities
