二、課程目標

In this semester, students will learn and practice language teaching methods/approaches commonly applied in language classes. Extend from the in-class teaching in public school; students demonstrate their ability in planning and leading an English class by designing and organizing an English lesson. The content of this semester is more practicum-oriented and the evaluation will laid on the final product of each assignment along with their performance in practicum.

三、課程內容

w Presentation & teaching on methods/approaches:

Two students form one team. Each team will sing up and take lead of one teaching method/approach from the textbook. During the presentation, students are expected to clearly explain the theoretical elements (such as principles or techniques) that constitute the method/approach. In the demonstration, students need to apply parts of what mentioned before in the presentation.

w In-class teaching in public school:

This semester, the practicum will apply the same rules and requirements as last semester. Please make sure to submit teaching reflection and lesson plan each week no later then the day before next teaching. The tutor session of in-class teaching will start right after the practicum starts. This is a one-on-one discussion with me regarding your teaching in public school.

w Exams (10 times):

An exam about the content of the teaching method/approach of that particular week will happen after the presentation and demonstration. The format of the exam will be mainly essay with occasional true-false or multiple choices.

準備

準備(preparation)工作內容要點

l   了解服務對象需求、結合課程所學。

l   建立合作關係，共同擬定服務計畫(服務學習目標、雙方需求、工作項目) 。

l   學生前至服務機構與相關負責人員熟識商討可進行服務之項目內容:學生參考國小方面所提供的服務對象之學習內容，事先完成教材製作與教法設計。

l   服務前訓練與每週於課程中持續服務學習內容進行訓練

服務(service) 工作內容要點

l   因服務對象多元，就參與服務學習學生特質或經驗，進行媒合。

l   確定服務工作性質，與課程所學結合。

l   討論並與服務對象達成共識: 含服務參與及方式(個別/小組、直接/間接、時間/時段等的彈性多元選擇，服務時間之安排。

l   設計並交叉進行服務過程反思活動。

反省

反思(reflection) 工作內容要點

l   演說：口頭發表、故事分享或團體討論，透過口頭報告可以更深層的了解個人的領悟。

l   書寫：日誌或主題式檔案夾，透過書寫形式的反思可以練習寫作技巧並組織自己的思考。

l   多媒體：照片、影片或藝術作品呈現，透過多媒體可以創造出情感及視覺的表達。

l   討論：每週進行服務學習後，授課教師會與參與服務學生團隊一起觀看服務學習之錄影並且檢討改進英語教材教法，以求教學的精進，協助服務對象達到預期學習成果

慶賀(celebration)工作內容要點

l   以頒獎(證)、慶功宴、師長表揚、與服務機構表揚等多元方式進行成果分享與驗收

l   從服務學習經驗中建立關懷文化、肯定參與貢獻、激起持續服務承諾

七、評量方式

In-class teaching in public school: 30%

Presentation & demonstration on methods/approaches: 15 %

Tutor sessions: 5%
